About Tad MannTarot.com is pleased to offer our new series of Mandala Tarot readings by Tad Mann, creative practitioner, teacher, author, artist and counselor. He received a five-year B.Arch. degree from Cornell University and worked as an award-winning architectural designer for major firms in New York City and Rome, Italy. He lived in England and Denmark for 26 years and now lives in Hudson, NY. Astrology books and Media: Tad's 14 books cover a very wide range of subjects and have been translated into 20 languages. In the 1970s he created a series of yearly calendar books called the "Phenomenon Book of Calendars" that were published worldwide. The first book he wrote and illustrated was The Round Art: The Astrology of Time and Space published in 1979. He followed with Life Time Astrology (1984), Astrology and the Art of Healing (1989), The Future of Astrology (1988), Millennium Prophecies (1991) and finally A New Vision of Astrology (2003). Tarot deck and Books: He created a unique and beautiful tarot deck in 1972 that integrates Astrology and the Tarot, which he later repainted for The Mandala Astrological Tarot in 1987. This deck has sold more than 75,000 copies in many languages. He wrote Secrets of the Tarot (1995). Other Books: He wrote Sacred Architecture (1993) as an integration of architecture with spiritual and sacred ideas and followed with Sacred Sexuality (1995) which he wrote with the Tarot master and author Jane Lyle. He also wrote The Divine Plot: Astrology and Reincarnation (1986) and The Elements of Reincarnation (1996) that explore his system for determining when in history one's previous incarnations are located and revealed. He is currently writing The Lost Language of Architecture and also Garden Dreams with the photographer Lynn Davis. Practice and Teaching: Tad has been a professional Astrologer and Tarot reader since 1972. He has taught at many schools and organizations in New York, London, Hamburg, Copenhagen, Bologna, Venice, Prague, Madrid, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Melbourne, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Seattle. He lectured at the "Making Sacred Places" conference at the University of Cincinnati and Hebrew Union College and at the California Institute of Integral Studies. He has taught at Manchester Metropolitan University and is due to speak at the University of Philadelphia, College of Architecture. Design Work and Teaching: Tad is an artist and graphic designer who has had many of his works published and shown. He is a board member of the International Center for Innovation and Sustainability (ICIS) and has taught design at the Danish Design School, SEDA (Scottish Ecological Design Association) and the Netherlands Design Institute. His astrologically influenced design philosophy and work was featured at the 1997 ICOGRADA (International Council of Graphic Design Associations) London Design Seminar, and his work was selected for inclusion in their book, Masters of the 20th Century: The Icograda Design Hall of Fame in 2002. Lectures and Workshops: Tad has taught at international, national and regional conferences on both his Astrology and Tarot ideas and his creative work, and he has been on the faculty of all the UAC conferences and many of the World Congress of Astrology conferences in Switzerland. He continues to travel and teach and is open to invitations. Organizations: He is a member of UAC, NCGR and AFAN. He is also a member of the Author's Guild in New York. He is on the advisory board of Kepler College. He was formerly an associate member of the American Institute of Architects. Awards: A New York City housing project he co-designed won a Progressive Architecture magazine Design Citation in 1970. He also was honored with the Neptune Award from the Fraternity of Canadian Astrologers and the Testimone de Cultura Astrologica at the Congresso Internazionale CIDA in Venezia in 1997. Personal: Tad is a student of the Tibetan Buddhist meditation teacher Traleg Kyabgon Rinpoche and edited a DVD of the Dalai Lama giving the Kalachakra Tantra Teachings for Mystic Fire Video.
