It's obvious to anyone who's paying attention that general interest
in Tarot, the I-Ching and other forms of classical divination is growing.
For one thing, Tarot decks are now being displayed at checkout in
the nation's largest bookstore chains like Barnes & Noble and Borders.
According to US Games Systems, the world's largest distributor of
Tarot decks, sales of Tarot decks and books have been growing 15-20%
a year for the past 10 years. As if to further make the point, telephone
Tarot readings are now widely advertised on national television (for
$3.99/minute no less).
According to an article in the "Hot Trends to Watch" column of the
Trends Journal, published by the Trends Research Inst., a futuristic
investment consulting firm, Tarot has become the world's most popular
form of "spiritual solitaire ... (or) do-it-yourself therapy, a way
of unlocking secrets of the self and providing directions toward life
goals." Their report goes on to point out that Tarot has become more
than a fad--it has achieve the status of a "trend," having penetrated
mainstream consciousness, retail channels and of course the Internet
in a big way.
The I-Ching is the world's oldest book, but it is more than a book
of timeless wisdom, it is also an oracle, an interactive guidance
system. I particular, consulting the I-Ching teaches balance and timing.
A dragon year can be likened to getting that first hexagram with no
changing lines, symbolizing a generally creative and powerful time.
Whenever the I-Ching responds to a query in this way, we are encouraged
to be active, to express our truth in deeds, to go forth and manifest.

Nobody knows better than we that something big is happening in the
world of divination. Visionary's Tarot and I-Ching websites are now
delivering over 1 Million classical (not psychic) readings/month,
which has put something of a strain on our ability to keep up in terms
of the very expensive business of adding new hardware and bandwidth.
We are gratified to learn that interactive Tarot is especially popular
when delivered in an energetically authentic way with rich interpretations
based on a card's position in a spread, not just a "fortune-cookie"
treatment. Meanwhile, our customers are discovering that they don't
need a "psychic friend" to get a meaningful Tarot reading -- and they
are developing their own innate intuitive abilities at the same time.
Thank you for sharing this learning along with us!
= Visionary acquires domain name TAROT.COM =
Visionary Networks is happy to announce that it has acquired Tarot.com
and I-Ching.com from their former owner, who had operated small Tarot
and I-Ching websites. We have merged Tarot.com with TarotMagic.com
so that they both point to our own evolving Tarot offerings. Similarly,
I-Ching.com and Iching.com now point to our popular I-Ching reading
site. I can't tell you how many times I have referred friends to our
site only to have them try Tarot.com instead! Now it will be much
easier for you to remember our sites and to pass the addresses on
to your friends too! :-)
= NEW: Customized Tarot Spreads
& Karma Coins in Fall 2000 =
Visionary's Tarot and I-Ching website experiences, at www.Tarot.com
and www.IChing.com are reaching
millions of people worldwide with what have become very popular Tarot
and I-Ching rituals.
A few months ago, we conducted a survey of visitors to our Tarot.com
website. Almost exactly 50% of the respondents said they would like
to be able to purchase "larger, more customized Tarot readings via
our website." In keeping with our spirit of creative enterprise --
and due to this demand -- Visionary Networks will begin offering 25
Custom Tarot Readings for a small fee ($3.90 to $7.90 depending
upon size) this fall, to be delivered on-line via the www.Tarot.com
website. We will also be launching our new Karma Coins feature which
will allow any newsletter subscriber a free way to try a few of these
new readings.
These readings will feature a variety of full-sized spreads with positional
meanings for each card, relating to specific questions involving relationship,
love, family, career, money and personal development. We have grown
our already huge encyclopedia of possible positional meanings another
25% in the process of building this capability with all interpretations
by our renowned Tarot author and scholar, Christine Payne-Towler (see
about her book, "The Underground Stream" here).
We are very proud to announce that AOL has chosen Tarot.com as its
new Tarot feature. If you are an AOL Member, just try Keyword: Tarot.
