Summer Love Forecast 2009
Get ready for intense passion play
this summer
by Rick Levine
Although this is supposed to be a time of lighthearted fun -- and your summer should have its share of that -- an intense Cancer New Moon on June 22 is opposed by potent Pluto.
This is an indication of the powerful feelings that are currently being unleashed between you and your partner or your own strong desires to find the love you seek. But Pluto can complicate even the tenderest feeling because it raises issues of jealousy and fears of abandonment. It's crucial to keep your heart open to what's happening in the present moment, rather than slipping into old hurtful memories that make you scared.
Fortunately, Venus and Mars, the cosmic lovers, are traveling hand-in-hand through sensual Taurus now. They are harmoniously trine steady Saturn during this New Moon, which can help take the edge off the unfolding drama and stabilize a relationship if you are willing to move beyond the superficial chatter and discuss what really going on.
A Kindler and Gentler You
A rare cosmic event -- a superconjunction of jovial Jupiter, healing Chiron and dreamy Neptune -- hangs over the sky through much of this year, filling your summer with irrepressible hope, even in the face of difficulty. Jupiter is exactly conjunct Neptune on July 10, raising the bar of your expectations, which can also lead to disappointment.
Venus and Mars dynamically square this magical congregation of planets on July 1–6, opening your heart to the possibility of love. Be aware that there isn't necessarily a pot of gold at the end of every rainbow that now appears, but the treasure hunt still could be fun. The serious Full Moon in Capricorn on July 7 is a Lunar Eclipse that can change the rules of a relationship while helping you focus on what's most important to you. By July 11, both Venus and Mars are in whimsical Gemini, so don't be too hard on yourself if you change your mind about what you want.
