What does the Sun in Cancer mean
for your zodiac sign?

Ready to kick off your shoes and get some rest and relaxation in? The Sun's move from on-the-go, social butterfly Gemini into sensitive, quiet Cancer each year allows us some downtime to process all the information we gathered in the past month -- and to simply sit in the moment, rather than worrying about what we're missing.

The Sun's move into Cancer also marks a shift of seasons: Summer Solstice, the official start of summer in the Northern Hemisphere. Solstice is the longest day of the year, a time to celebrate the light -- the joy, warmth, abundance and blessings of summer. But this year, the Sun moves into Cancer as it angles off with two intense planets: encouraging (but ambitious) Jupiter and "rock the boat" Uranus. These two planets are out on a tear because both are combining energy with "Warrior sign" Aries, the leader of the zodiac whose fiery energy pushes us to take action. These situations do not mesh well with Cancer's need for security, because Jupiter, Uranus and Aries are all about constant change -- mainly for the better!
