Food for Aquarius
Tasty bites that heal and inspire
by chef to the celebrities -- Sabra Ricci
Aquarius and Uranus rule the ankles, calves and circulatory system. Aquarians can suffer from edema (swollen ankles) and gout as well as many types of circulatory issues. Not only will they find these foods tasty, they'll benefit from the healing properties. All other signs dealing with these problems can seek relief by utilizing these foods, too.
Anchovies
Anchovies are an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-6 fatty acids are abundant in vegetables and readily available -- so much so that many individuals overindulge, which can cause inflammation. A healthy dose of omega-3’s balance the intake and effects of omega-6. This will help prevent edema and gout. So Aquarians should order that pizza with anchovies included.

Hearts of palm
Hearts of palm are the inner portions of cabbage palm tree stems. About four inches long, they resemble asparagus without the tip. They can be up to 1-1/2 inches in diameter. Hearts of palm can be served in several ways, but are often used in salads. They are out of the range of ordinary fixings, though, which adds to the appeal for Aquarius.
Rice
Rice is one of the seven sacred grains. It is a staple for hundreds of million people across the planet. In Japanese mythology, it is said to be a food of the heavens, brought to earth by the favorite daughter of the highest God. It's a universally-used food, which resonates with an Aquarian's universal thinking. It seems appropriate that rice, grown in water, is specifically found of the food list of the Water Bearer.
Pineapple
After the banana, pineapple is the second most popular tropical fruit. When first discovered, pineapples were coveted and viewed as a symbol of social standing. This was due to the rarity of the fruit anywhere other than the tropics. The fruit would spoil during the long ocean voyage, so even the display as an inedible table decoration was envied. High in manganese, vitamin C and bromelain, these sweet treats act as an anti-inflammatory and digestive aid.
Tuna
Tuna has long been a food staple, in fresh form on the seacoasts and dried or pickled inland. It is very high in omega-3 fatty acid, B vitamins and one serving contains more than 100% of the daily tryptophan requirement. Tuna has antidepressant qualities and is said to prevent Alzheimers and other age-related memory disorders. This attribute may relate to the emotional detachment and excellent memory of Aquarians. Tuna should be a dietary addition to all signs suffering from aging and forgetfulness.
Vanilla
Vanilla comes from a plant in the orchid family. The Aztecs believed that a Goddess fell in love with a mortal and changed herself into the vanilla orchid to bring beauty to earth. Unlike most beautiful flowers, the vanilla orchid has no scent -- all the fragrance comes from the bean. It was thought at one time that carrying a vanilla bean would raise a person's consciousness to a higher level, making it the perfect flavor for a high-minded Aquarian.
Whipped cream
Whipped cream has been called a gift from nature. Cream-filled éclairs and puffs are favorites for Aquarians. Nothing can compare with homemade whipped cream, beaten into soft peaks with just the right amount of sugar folded in. Forget the Cool Whip; forget the fat and calories in the real thing. Let’s all be Water Bearers for a day.
