2010 Love Astrology Forecast

The time is right for making deeper connections

Love takes on a spiritual tone early in 2010 when generous Jupiter enters metaphysical Pisces on January 17. This can open the way to more compassionate relationships with romance based more on faith and idealism than personal lust and desire. The danger of this combination, though, is that we can see so many good things in other people that we tend to overlook their limitations. Starting with a high estimation of others allows fantasies to build up very easily that can, over time, result in disappointment. Everyone is worthy of compassion, but few folks are good candidates for long-term companionship.

Spontaneity reigns supreme
There's a significant shift when Jupiter visits independent Aries from June 5 until September 8 before finishing the year in pliant Pisces. The late spring and summer will heat up with this optimistic planet in the zodiac's most spontaneous sign. Leaps toward romance come easily as attractions fire up quickly and then flame out fast. This isn't a great period for settling down or for making the compromises necessary to support ongoing partnerships. But if you're looking for new experiences and different kinds of people to play with, Jupiter in Aries should do the trick.

Love, lust and libidos
An especially powerful period for intimacy starts when alluring Venus enters sensual Scorpio on September 8. The emotional steam really starts to rise when passionate Mars moves into Scorpio six days later. These two relationship planets join on October 3 to inspire lovers and incite libidos everywhere. Yet before lust can lead us to a lifelong love affair, Venus turns retrograde on October 8 and retreats to rational Libra on November 7 to reconsider the follies of desire. Reason can temporarily chill relationships, yet the passion will not be shelved for very long. On November 18 Venus turns direct and reenters Scorpio on November 29, bringing in the holidays in high heels and black stockings and ending the year with powerful feelings.
