2011 starts off as a year of adventure, when pushing forward opens hearts and standing still shuts them down. Love needs to be watered with different experiences to keep it fresh and interesting, especially while expansive Jupiter is in pioneering Aries from January 22 until June 4. Taking chances by adding new experiences to a current relationship or breaking patterns in seeking a new partner is desirable.

In fact, even cautious or fearful individuals get a push early on with the Solar Eclipse in Capricorn on January 4. At the same time, passionate Mars is joined with the Sun and Moon to spike ambitions, and romance enters the picture as amorous Venus, still simmering in Scorpio, forms harmonious 120-degree trines to Jupiter and innovative Uranus. This kicks the year off by urging us to recognize where old patterns in relationships are not working and to find ways to play, explore and change the rules in the game of love. Pleasure can be found in unexpected ways and romance grows beyond the limits of earlier expectations.

Power struggles are possible when Venus joins potent Pluto in Capricorn on February 9. Ghosts from the past may rise to dampen optimism. However, facing old fears is a powerful way to finally move past them and live more freely in the present.

There's a sensual period beginning in June that reminds us to slow down to enjoy the sweetness of life. This positive attitude about pleasure will enrich relationships by lifting moods everywhere. During the Solar Eclipse in Gemini on June 1, Venus and Mars are joined in Taurus. The meeting of Astrology's lovers -- attractive Venus and passionate Mars -- in this Earth sign puts feet on the ground and opens the senses.
