Creativity Meets Common Sense

The New Moon conjunct Mars and Pluto in conquering Capricorn has hundreds dead in the Gaza and Pakistani troops gathering at the Indian border. It’s understandable to be aggressive when you’re afraid. The economy is scary now. Very scary. And that’s on top of wars, environmental disasters, terrorism, crime, disease. The usual stuff. Fortunately, there are always chances for humans to learn and for us to behave more intelligently.

Any New Moon is an opportunity to start over. The conjunction of the Sun and the Moon begins a new wave in the ongoing ebb and flow of their relationship. Seeds are planted as fresh ideas or actions every month. Some take root, some don’t. Last Saturday’s (12/27) New Moon is especially rich in potential for making real changes in your life. This meeting of Will (Sun) and Way (Moon) in ambitious, constructive, productive and disciplined Capricorn connects intention and habit with a purpose and the means to achieve it.

Capricorn teaches us how to be competent and master the challenges of the material world. Therefore, it is important to make a real New Year’s resolution this year, one that you will keep. Have a doable backup resolution if you’re not sure you can stick to your first one. It’s important for you to succeed at something. One successful step, no matter how small, will empower you and increase your chances for more success. Persistence is power, especially with the Sun in Capricorn. Aligning your intention with your actions enriches you and humanity as a whole. If we each improve just a little bit, we may all improve a lot.
