Transformation Sparks Hope

A power struggle could arise early this month with the Full Moon in Taurus on November 2. This lunation occurs in the placid sign of Taurus, normally making this one of the less dramatic Full Moons on the year. However, this time around aggressive Mars in proud Leo forms challenging 90-degree squares to the Sun and Moon that provoke conflict and competition. More »

“Summertime, and the living is easy…”

June 22nd, 2009 by Rick Levine

Or is it?

We are officially in summer, now that the Sun is in the sign of Cancer the Crab. We should be laying in the Sun on the beach. But the economy is in shambles. Iran is in the midst of a meltdown. And many of us are going through intense emotional transformation as the Cancer New Moon opposed Pluto. All of this (and more) is a taste of what’s to come as Pluto is stressed and re-stressed over the next several years. In the meantime, we each need to pay attention to what’s happening in our own personal lives, for the solutions to the problems of the world begin with attending to unresolved issues at home.

Psychologist Carl Jung wrote in “The Undiscovered Self” that war will never be ended by politicians making an agreement. He said that the end of social turmoil will come from the salvation of the individuals living in the world. Astrology is just one tool for us to become more aware of our individual issues. The first step toward solving problems is becoming aware of them. Once we see a pattern that was previously hidden, then we can begin to develope strategies for change.

Although taking time off for rest and relaxation is a summertime kind of thing to do, we no longer have the luxury of letting our personal stuff slip into denial. What are YOU doing this summer to enhance YOUR personal development??

  1. Gay Says:

I have been separated from my husband for 3 years. It has become clear to me that this is a time for change, no more procrastination. I have set my intention to be divorced by the end of summer. The focus this summer is going through stuff, physcially separating our stuff that has accumulated for 18 years. Summer fun? Yes. But I have work to finish.

  2. Diana Says:

After 9 years of being divorced and a handful of ‘close but not quite’ relationships, I am participating in regular meditation sessions and working reflections on healing my abandonment/rejection issues- learning to heal my inner wounded child rather than allowing my outer child/ego to continue distancing myself from the close relationships I truly want and need.

  3. Tricia Says:

I was laid off in April for the second time in two years. In 2007 the lay off happened at a time when my older sister needed me to be her caregiver as she was dealing with terminal breast cancer. I lost her in Nov. 2007. I am taking this time now to sort through, both literally and figuretively, the things that were left behind at my sister’s passing. I am going through the closets of my life to see what is worth keeping that will move me forward into a new stage of life and what needs to be discarded because it is just taking up valuable space. I am using tarot and mediative walks in the park to listen as a chart a new and brighter course for myself.

  4. Shar Says:

I got breast cancer last year, lost the day job in the process, and after a year I’m a survivor. I feel pain especially in the sun which use to be my way of healing being a Leo. I started smoking again which I feel really stupid about but I’m nervous and hungry, it seems to help with all this waiting for answers. It’s sad that I was in a direction position, top health, working for a charity before all this happen. Now I only have two months before everything goes to hell in a handbasket. Talk about living on a prayer! I’ve been hiding away from the probing questions which I don’t have any answers. I took a night class in class incase a good day job came. It’s philosophy and its helping me so much with religion, death, and better ways of thinking. I’m a part-time musician and got my chops backup and running in the meantime, but there are barely any paying gigs… readings indicate that all will be good, we shall see… I hope so!
