The Lunar Bomber
October 9th, 2009 by Rick LevineOkay, let me say it right up front: I don’t like that NASA bombed the Moon in search of water. But I must say that I’m intrigued by the reaction of many of my peers who feel that this action is a direct assault on the feminine, that the Goddess will not take kindly to this action, and that we have now upset the cosmic order.
Okay, so I don’t like the idea of crashing a rocket onto the surface of the Moon. But, quite frankly, I don’t like the idea of bombing the Earth either—and yet we do it every day! Sometimes we need an event to focus our helplessness and rage. This might be such an event. Astrologically, catalytic events happen in our personal lives when transits “trigger” a deeper and more powerful configuration. Perhaps this lunar bombing is such an event.
There may be potential harm associated with making a new crater on the Moon as part of a scientific experiment. However, I’m more concerned with what we are doing in our own back yard. Let’s take some of the outrage about NASA’s current (and perhaps misguided) experiment and aim it closer to home. What about trying to stop some of the destruction we are doing to our local ecology? Our rain forests? The oceans? Open pit mining? Electromagnetic pollution? Or what about the environmental impact of our bombing in Afghanistan? And then, there’s the human factor… These issues are, like the rest of life, so simple yet so complex.
What do you think?

You’re right, we’re a mess, ha
But here’s how I see it, or what’s coming to me
First of all, an “attack” on anything is an attack on ourselves. I see Mother Earth as our body, the material aspect of our being. Our endeavors to destroy her aligns with our endeavors to destroy ourselves — look at us, obese, all kindsa disease, slow suicide with fake foods, cigs, booze, etc. All representing self-hatred. Little “bombs” on our own body.
I shudder more at the attack on our precious Moon, because she represents the spiritual, intuitive, emotional part of us–the female energy in all of us. She represents our real Self, our true Power. So not only are we continuing to destroy the/our Body (Earth), we are now endeavoring to destroy the Spirit. Perhaps because it is now rising up in us, and it brings such profound change, that it horrifies us subconsciously.
If this was a Tarot card, it would surely be the Moon reversed or “ill-dignified,” which I would take as a lot of FEAR. Fear of all the changes we’re experiencing in this reality right now.
When we change our inner reality, we’ll change the outer reality. Hopefully, it will be in time to prevent the destruction of Mother Earth, the Moon…all that is this “reality.”
Peace,

yes, life.. so simple yet so complex. seems like the human factor (in numbers and evolutionary aspects) is expanding as the universe is itself, like a kind of entropy… moving away from ‘center’ or from ’source,’ and thus a forgetting or a displacement of purpose or order of things occurs on both small and large scale. as we, and all things, are so interconnected, whether we realize and accept it or not, each event triggers another as it transits through whatever point in time across whatever place… or space.
i think it’s the human feeling of helplessness that sometimes results in the rage that some of our misguided efforts or experiments are born, and the constant attempts to catch up or make up for what was lost, whether it was tangible or intangible, i believe the ’simple’ solution is the return of universal harmony of the human spirit with its relationship to nature, earthwise and beyond, and the subsequent return of balance of the spheres, within and without. but we choose this consciously and collectively.
but, how and when do we arrive there? that is the complex part… since we are fixed on a linear time-line, we all must wait for the forces, gods and goddesses (and their heirarchies :), as the order of things play out and the universal consciousness, as it realigns and becomes one (again), we/it decide just the right moment… and if we can be patient, then it will all make sense. i think.

It just occurred to me, they’re searching for water…symbolic of emotions. Hmmm. I believe we’ll “arrive there” when we find those emotions, stop fearing/hating/denying them, ourselves, our own Power. The route to real healing will be in truly finding, healing, discovering the value in, and honoring those emotions.

Yes, I think Mr. Levine is right (should I say it?) on target! What’s even sadder is that now know what we’re doing in our back yards, and we are also aware of the ramifications! Yet, like everything else, we push it forward in the hope that we don’t have to deal with it, or by some miracle we can (and will?) fix it later. The problem there is like everything else we do and put off, the ‘bill’ comes due down the line. Wonder when we will wake up. Besides, since we’re ‘returning’ to the Moon to slingshot to Mars, couldn’t we have found a non-violent way to search for water on the moon?
