Get to Know Us

If you clicked your way to this corner of Tarot.com, you are likely someone who treats time as a currency. You care about the integrity of the companies you interact with, and you want to know exactly who is behind the curtain. We're the same, so we respect that deeply.

Let’s skip the corporate bio slop. Tarot.com is a proud, independently run, women-owned small business. We are not a faceless tech conglomerate or a private equity portfolio asset. We are a highly focused squad of creators, scholars, and builders operating a living system dedicated to human agency.

Here is how we got here, where we are going, and how synchronicity brought us back.

Jess, CEO, and Tammy Williams, Partner at Tarot.com

Real humans, real stewardship. Tarot.com is back in the hands of two best friends who helped build it over twenty years ago.

Chapter One:
The Way Back Time Machine

We didn’t just inherit this platform; we helped lay its very first bricks. Back in 2002, our founder, Paul O’Brien, planted a groundbreaking seed by creating one of the first rich-media Tarot experiences on the web. It was built on original human scholarship, deep psychological patterns, and beautiful artistry. As one of the company's very first employees, I was there to help bring that vision online during the wild frontiers of the early internet.

My name is Jess, and I'm writing this page in the first person because, well, I’m the CEO now. But I wasn't always. For years, my longtime colleague, best friend, and business partner—Tammy Williams—and I worked to scale this platform. Eventually, the company changed hands, corporate transitions took over, and I left to build other creative ventures. Tarot.com moved into a corporate holding pattern, surviving on the sheer loyalty of its members, while Tammy stayed behind, fiercely protecting the platform’s core integrity with minimal support.

Chapter Two:
The Call to Adventure"

I was entirely settled. I was absolutely not looking to take on a massive project, inherit a massive user base, or run a tech company. But a few years ago, synchronicity struck.

Tammy reached out to me with a blunt reality check: "They are going to sell it off or shut it down."

Blame it on my Aquarius Sun, Aquarius Moon, and Gemini Rising, but my immediate reaction wasn't corporate ambition, and it wasn't cheap nostalgia. It was a sudden, clear-headed realization: The world actually needs these tools more than ever right now.

Look around. The modern internet has become an automated, loud machine designed to weaponize your anxieties and keep you mindlessly scrolling. People are completely exhausted by algorithmic noise and predictive tech that tries to tell them who they are and what they will do.

Tammy and I realized we didn't want to just "save" an old website. We wanted to protect a massive community of members and introduce Tarot to a completely new generation of seekers in a way that is deeply relevant to the unique challenges of today. Most importantly, we wanted to build a sanctuary that preserves absolute human control over our own choices and narratives.

Chapter Three:
The Next Quest

We didn't buy this company back to make an old brand look cool. We are starting from zero to build something the digital space hasn't seen yet: a modern, unbothered ecosystem built for a highly chaotic world, powered by a timeless, proven human asset—the historical foundation of Tarot.com.

There are no rigid formulas for feelings, and no fixed blueprints for navigating massive change. We aren't building a static, unyielding structure here; we are building an organic movement. Our philosophy is to do what is right in the present, run regular self-auditing cycles, and adjust incrementally to meet the demands of a changing world that remains outside of our control.

Every day, our team anchors our development, content, and partnerships to our corporate North Star: To build a world where people live lives they love -- grounded in self-trust, emotional agency, and respect for individual autonomy.

We fulfill our mission through two strict operational commitments:

  1. For the Seekers and Storytellers: Our community is the absolute lifeline of our quest. We do not build automated fortune-telling machines, and we do not peddle toxic positivity. Instead, we treat these ancient tools as beautiful, expansive, and visual maps designed to help you explore your unique human experience. We build experiences to help you trust your own intuition and always own your story. If we can be part of anyone's story -- we want it to be genuinely good.

  2. For the Experts and Artists: The profound visual and textual roots of the Tarot belong entirely to the human creators committed to honoring and reimagining these sacred tools and symbols. We are here to support, elevate, and passionately protect original human craft. As outlined in our AI & Editorial Philosophy, we maintain a strict human-first standard across our platform, using technology solely to support our journey. We are dedicated to amplifying the depth, beauty, and authenticity of human insight within our vibrant community.
